Marcus Dunstan, director of The Collector and the follow up, re-teams with the films star Josh Stewart for this taunt thriller. The Neighbour starts out more as a low-key crime drama as we are introduced to John (Stewart), a low level criminal who runs drugs and money for his uncle but John’s only biding his time until he can rip his uncle off and disappear with his girlfriend Rosie (Alex Essoe). Just as all the cards are falling into place and John is about to kick his plan into action Rosie goes missing. It’s at this point, almost halfway through the film that the tone changes and we venture into more familiar horror territory. Suspecting his dodgy neighbour Troy (Bill Engvall) may have something to do with Rosie’s disappearance he breaks into his house and discovers something sinister is afoot.
